Madame Tussauds Museum
One of the most famous museums in the world, the Madame Tussauds wax museum gives you the opportunity to have your picture taken with your teenager idol or your favorite painter. The work people put into making the statues is shown by the astonishing resemblance with the real life persons they portrait. By visiting Madame Tussauds Museum you have the chance to meet Marilyn Monroe or Oprah Winfrey. The museum opens everyday from 10am to 5.30pm. The prices are worthy of the name and the fame of the museum with fares that vary from 59 to 95 euro for family packages, to 14 euros for children under 15 years.

Allard Pierson Museum
The Allard Pierson Museum takes its name from the famous professor of Classical Archaeology from the University of Amsterdam. Pierson has put a lot of work into gathering of antics and memorable pieces for the museum. The department offers its visitors a permanent collection of exhibitions that illustrate the Egyptian culture, ancient Greece and Rome and plenty of interesting objects from different fields like sculpture, glassware or jewelry. The museum opens from Tuesday until Friday from 10am to 5pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 1pm to 5pm. The entrance fee is of 6.50 euros for adults and 3.25 for children.

Huis Marseille Museum
For photography addicts, the Huis Marseille Museum is a must see. Located in a 17th century old house, the museum offers a very small and intimate ambient delighting the eyes of its visitors with six exhibition rooms that expose photography in all its forms. Previously the museum was an old house belonging to an art passionate and important business man, Jan de Pont. The exhibitions in the museum change once every three months and the exposed works focus on the visual impact of art over the viewer while offering a pleasant experience in a well conserved small museum. The museum is usually opened from Tuesday to Sunday from 11am to 6am and is closed on official holidays. The admission fee varies and it’s free for those owning and I Amsterdam Card and for those under the age of 17.
